Well where to start with this one π
First we had to treat it heavily for bugs then we washed it 3 times with Sugar Soap which just wasn't cutting it so we took the hose and a magical mixture to it... the colour of the water that came off of it π€’
Next step was sanding it, which was where we started to see all the work the piece actually needed, so Jack got to work removing both bug destroyed front legs and replacing them for new ones, then nailed in all the front detailing as everything was loose. π
Then there was the question of what to do with the glass panels, 1 had already been cello taped together and had already come loose and another was cracked in 2 places, after cutting our fingers twice the hammer came out and we smashed them out completely and replaced them with some black burlap for a much safer and slightly more modern look. π¨
Finally came the painting! All hand painted inside the workshop using our go to Frenchic off white, Wedding Cake.
